Weekend in the Snow

President's Day Weekend 2011 was Sophia's first visit to the snow. A very big thanks to the Borchardt Family whom once again graciously allowed the Magos Family use of their cabin. Others in attendance this weekend were my mom and dad, Nino Don, Brenda, Daniel and Bailey, Nino Vic, Tia Letti and Nicasio.

We almost didn't make it up to Shaver Lake on Saturday because Caltrans was requiring chains. Luckily Mitzi and I bought chains in Prather before we went up the hill and we were able to safely make it the rest of the way. My Nino Vic had to go back down the hill to buy chains and they joined us at the cabin about a half and hour later.

It snowed a overnight and we woke up on Sunday morning to a beautiful sight outside. The sun was out and the snow was glowing with the sunlight hitting it. Luckily the road was plowed and we were able to use the sleds. I've included a few photos and videos of the weekend below, enjoy!

This was how our car was found after a night of snow:

Viva Las Vegas!

This past weekend Mitzi, Sophia and I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my cousin Andy's 21st birthday. My parents went along with us and helped us with Sophia and watched her while Mitzi and I enjoyed the festivites during the night hours. Sophia did so good on the trip. She seemed to really enjoy seeing all the lights and all the people out. We arrived on Friday and came back on Sunday. We were able to see and do a lot when were there (although in Vegas, it always seems like you could have seen and done more). Below are a few pictures of Sophia during the trip

Apparently The Mirage is Sophia's favorite hotel/casino. Perhaps its the big volcano outside?

Sophia is so excited to cash her ticket

Finally, Sophia is so pooped from the trip that she forgot to put her last $100 into her purse.

Holiday Season

Hello all, I know I'm a little late with these videos, but here you go. The first two are of Sophia opening gifts on Christmas while the next two are my mom attempting to make a pie. For anyone who knows my mom, cooking and/or baking are not her cup of tea. Enjoy!

So Blessed

Mitzi and I are truly blessed to have Sophia in our lives. It is the moments that you don't expect that truly make it worthwhile to be a parent. For example, just the other day Mitzi was singing Christmas songs with Sophia. I was sitting on the couch nearby just listening and watching and when Mitzi was done, Sophia just stared into Mitzi's eyes intently. At that moment, both of us broke down and teared up a bit. Words cannot describe how much we love Sophia and all the joy she has brought to our lives. During this time of year it's important to be with family and friends and Mitzi and I are truly thankful that we now have our own little person to share this special time with.

Below are some random videos of Sophia from the past few days...enjoy!

Sophia's First Halloween

Hello all, I know it's been awhile since my last entry but here we go. Sophia enjoyed her first Halloween this past week and she looked oh so cute. Daddy took Sophia around the neighborhood to gather some candy and she made out pretty well. Although she can't eat it, mommy and daddy have done so for her. Below are a couple of pictures of her and mommy and daddy.
